Three factors decide the quality of a LED light as follow:
Chips,Driver and Heat dissipation design.
Chapter 1: Chips
Chips/Dies Brand
Chips take up 40% cost of a whole LED light.
Most of enquires are always related to “what kind of chip brand are you offering?”
Let us figure out what are chips and dies first.
Die: the original material of LED chips.
Chips: After encapsulation, dies are made into chips.
Many die suppliers also have their encapsulation factories.
Which means they supply both dies and chips.
Take Epistar for example, Epistar is widely used. Epistar company also have their encapsulation factory. But it doesn’t mean all Epistar chips are from Epistar Company.
The chips of LED products you buy from China are mostly from the Chinese LED encapsulation factories.
So at least you should ask these 2 questions.
Which die brand are you offering ? and which company offers the encapsulation?
As the core unit, LED Chips/dies technology's development leads the direction of LED Lighting market. Currently there are 3 groups in this market, performing "Matthew effect".
① The first Group: (Japan, Europe, America as the representatives)

As another core unit,LED Driver decides the performance and life span of LED lights. A good driver would make the light perform brighter, stable, even RF-anti-interference.
Generally,there are three kinds of LED Drivers in the market that present different performance and price.
①The first one:EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility)
Non-electrolytic capacitor and RF-anti-interference Performs best Most expensive
②The second one:IC(Integrated Circuit)
Non-electrolytic capacitor Performs better Expensive
③The third one: RC(Resister Circuit)
Resister capacitor Performs ordinary Chip
Chapter 3: Heat dissipation design
Also as a core unit,Heat dissipation design decides the stability and life span of LED lights.
SMD--------Surface mounted chips
COB--------Chips embedded on board
MCOB------Multi bare Chips embedded on board
Compared to mounted chips on the surface, MCOB encapsulation Multi-Chips embedded on board,exactly,Multi bare chip(die,the initial light material) embedded on board.
Without less thermal resistance between chips and aluminum base, MCOB packaging gets the better heat management.
